Description:

It's holiday season!  Studies show most Americans gain 1-2 pounds a year and most often this happens during the holidays.  Let's skip the holiday weight gain this year!  And, if you want to lose weight, you can do that too!  Join the RK Maintain/Don't Gain Challenge for some accountability and education on holiday recipes, what to eat/not eat and other things to do to avoid weight gain.

We are keeping this individual challenge simple with 4 activities you can do daily and one weekly weigh in (completed by you). Rest assured, everything is anonymous -no one will see your entries.  You will only see your activities and your points.

Each daily activity equals 5 points and can be earned only once/day:

  • complete 30 minutes of physical activity a day or 10,000 steps
  • drink 64 ounces of pure water/day (meaning nothing added, just plain water)
  • limit your added sugar intake to less than 25 grams/day for women and 38 grams/day for men
  • sleep a minimum of 7 hours per night

If you complete all 4 daily activities each day of the week you can earn 140 points/week.

Weekly weigh in equals 60 points: to earn the points you must maintain or lose weight (2-3 lbs. within initial weight is considered to be maintenance) 

The challenge is 8 weeks (Nov 4-Dec 30th) with a total of 1600 points that can be earned.
