Description:

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to do your best to get as many points in this challenge as possible for 7 days in a row!

How to earn points:

  • 1 point for each serving of vegetables (up to 3 servings/3 points per day)

    One serving of vegetables: approx. ½ cup cooked vegetable or 1 cup raw vegetable or leafy greens

  • 1 point for each serving of fruit (up to 2 servings/2 points per day)

    One serving of fruit: 1 cup fresh fruit or fruit juice or ½ cup dried fruit (examples of 1 cup fresh fruit:  1 small apple; 1 large banana; 32 grapes; 8 large strawberries)

  • Automatically receive 1 bonus point each for getting all of your recommended vegetable and/or fruit servings per day (up to 2 bonus points per day)!

  • 1 point for each “Balanced Meal” (up to 3 meals/3 points per day)

    A Balanced meal looks like:  half of your plate is vegetables and fruit, the other half is protein and grain. Get your calcium from dairy or non-dairy sources (non-dairy sources of calcium include: fortified almond, soy, or rice milk; fortified breakfast cereal; collard, mustard, and turnip greens; kale; broccoli; tofu; dried figs; almond butter, etc.)

  • 1 point per day for trying a new fruit, vegetable, or whole grain

  • 1 point per day for bringing a healthy snack or meal to work

  • 1 point per day for eating 5 different colors of whole foods in one day

  • 1 point per day for passing on dessert

  • 1 point per day for drinking at least 8 8oz glasses of water

    Earn up to 15 points a day! 

    How to participate:

    You can log your own info using the free ChallengeRunner app, or ChallengeRunner.com on a web browser.  You can even share photos of your balanced meals, new foods, five color foods, or other healthy eating examples in the comments section!  Entries be made once daily, and must be your TOTAL servings for that day. You can enter for previous days at any time throughout the challenge by changing the Log Date at the top of ChallengeRunner dashboard on a web browser, or in the app.

    How to win:

    There will be prize drawings in 3 points categories.  Depending on your total points at the end of the challenge, you will be entered to win 1, 2, or 3 Farmers Market coins ($20, $40 and $60 values!). **YOU MUST EARN A MINIMUM OF 3 POINTS EVERY DAY DURING THE CHALLENGE TO BE ENTERED INTO ANY DRAWINGS
