Description:

North Pole Destination Challenge

Join the Department of Wellness as we make our holiday dash to the North Pole! Between Nov. 20th - Dec. 25th, partner with OSU CHS faculty, staff, students, and residents to walk the 3,720 miles from the CHS Main Campus to the home of Santa's Workshop.

Dates: Nov. 20th - Dec. 25th

Registration Instructions:

To be sure the miles you walk are counted toward the group's effort, join the North Pole Walking Team.

  • Login to osuchs.challengerunner.com 
  • Locate the black Destination North Pole challenge banner on your account's home screen. 
  • Select the orange Team button. 
  • Select the North Pole Walking Team and click Save.

Entering Miles Traveled

There are two methods of entering the miles you've walked into the Challenge Runner tracking system: 1) upload your miles automatically by syncing your supported activity tracker 2) track your miles manually and enter them into the tracking system each day.

 

Syncing a Activity Tracker:

  • Login to your osuchs.challengerunner.com account. Click the Profile link at the top of the homepage, then select the Tracker.
  • Select your fitness tracker from the dropdown list.
  • Notes dialogue box will pop-up next to the drop-down list. Follow its prompts to sync your tracker.
  • Once the device is authorized, you must ensure to connect your device to the activity tracker's website at least once per day in order to sync data.

Manual Entry

Challenge Runner Website:

  1. Login to osuchs.challengerunner.com. Locate the Miles Traveled line under the Destination North Pole Challenge.
  2. Enter the number of steps taken each day into the box to the right.

Challenge Runner App:

  1. Select the Destination North Pole Challenge.
  2. Select the Miles Traveled.
  3. Enter the number of miles you walk each day.

Prizes:

Every 35 miles you walk earns you one entry into a prize drawing at the end of the challenge! Drawings will take place when we return from the break in January, so be sure to log all of  the steps you can by Dec. 25th!
